faq

How do LeadsData.io get the data?

We build profiles for each lead based on information from a number of different sources with publicly available data.

These include:

  • Proprietary technology that collects the information from multiple public sources, which can then be checked and verified.
  • Our network of contributors who help us to validate and find new information about the leads we identify.
  • Third-party partners who can supplement this information with further details from public companies, government data sources, social media profiles etc.

Is what LeadsData.io does legal?

What we do at LeadsData.io is legal because we only collect and process aggregate business-related data, such as work email addresses or company information.

This information is generally viewed differently to more sensitive information – such as browser history, health or financial information, or any personal details – by lawmakers globally.

We also work with legal experts to make sure our data is compliant with relevant data protection and privacy laws, such as GDPR.

Is LeadsData.io GDPR compliant?

Yes. We are dedicated to ensuring the process we use to collect data is in line with GDPR regulations. When collecting data from EU-based contacts, we give notice that we are processing their business contact information to share with our paying clients for marketing purposes. We also give each contact the right to opt-out of having their information shared upon request.

We regularly and securely share an updated list of contacts who have opted out. We ask that our customers check this list when using data we have provided them in the past, and honour the contact’s request for opting out, unless they have a separate, independent lawful reason to continue communication.

All the data we provide to clients is shared in a secure way ensuring that no-one without authorisation can access their information.

For more information on how we process information in accordance with GDPR, please contact us.

How does GDPR affect the way that I use this data?

As with all business contact information, the right for a person to opt-out from their data being used must be respected. We provide opportunities for our contacts to do so, and we regularly publish a secure list of those who have opted-out. We therefore ask that our customers check this list when using data we have provided them in the past, and honour the contact’s request for opting out, unless they have a separate, independent lawful reason to continue communication.

GDPR requires at least one legal basis to be legitimately applied to the marketing activities that use personal data. There are 6 legal bases: Consent, Contract, Legal Obligation, Vital Interests, Public Task, and, Legitimate Interest. Our customers must take this into account when using the data we provide for marketing purposes.

We also recommend that you have your own system for managing and honouring GDPR user rights, and review this regularly.
